The Half Marathon in Crete will be held on Sunday, 4th October 2026 at Arkalochori, 25minutes drive from Heraklion .The accompanying races 10k , 5k and 1k for children (6-12years) will give family and friends of the half marathoner a chance to run their own race.

The 5km race is a circle run inside the village of Arkalochori .
The 10km is a run to Houmeri a u-turn and finish at the exhibition center

The registration limit is considered vital for the safety of the event .In 2025 the registrations were sold out one month before the race .So be sure to register on time.

Registration for Crete Half Marathon 2026 will be open in December

Electronic Timing:
An official timing company has undertaken the Timing of the Crete Half Marathon event. The same company is also responsible to issue the Official Results of the event after its conclusion.
Timing chip will be provided to all athletes the previous day along their package. Check points will be placed in several points of the race in order to provide accurate results
All athletes must follow the rules and regulations of the Athletic Committee or else they may be disqualified.
The results are provided by the official website of the race.
All participating runners, who cross the finish line will receive a finishers’ medal, while they will be able to download the participation certificate after the validation of the Official Race Results
Medical Certificate:
All runners participate in the event AT THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. The Organizing Committee bears no responsibility for any issue related to the participants’ health and is due to the lack of complete pre-race medical check. It is recommended that all participants have recently gone through a full range medical check before the event..The Organizing Committee will not request any written medical certification given that all runners participate at exclusively their own responsibility. Parents have the responsibility of participants under 18.
Medical support:
The Medical support will be done by volunteer doctors and the Samaritans of the Hellenic Red Cross.The Organizing Committee is responsible for providing medical service to the runners. Volunteer Doctors , the Red Cross Samaritans provide medical services along the course as well as at the Start and Finish of the race. Two ambulances will be in the exhibition Center. Medical Volunteers and Paramedics will be along the course to offer first aid and to contact the persons responsible for the event's medical services.

A Handmade Winner’s Cup is awarded to the first place.
